Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1355.1","heading":"Oklahoma Indigent Defense System Board","body":"There is hereby created the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System\n\nBoard. The Board shall govern the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System.\n\nThe Board shall be composed of five (5) members appointed for five-\n\nyear terms by the Governor with the advice and consent of the\n\nSenate. At least three members shall be attorneys licensed to\n\npractice law in the State of Oklahoma who have experience through\n\nthe practice of law in the defense of persons accused of crimes.\n\nThe Governor shall designate one Board member to serve as chair. No\n\ncongressional district shall be represented by more than one member\n\non the Board. However, when congressional districts are redrawn\n\neach member appointed prior to July 1 of the year in which such\n\nmodification becomes effective shall complete the current term of\n\noffice and appointments made after July 1 of the year in which such\n\nmodification becomes effective shall be based on the redrawn\n\ndistricts. Appointments made after July 1 of the year in which such\n\nmodification becomes effective shall be from any redrawn districts\n\nwhich are not represented by a board member until such time as each\n\nof the modified congressional districts are represented by a board\n\nmember. No appointments may be made after July 1 of the year in\n\nwhich such modification becomes effective if such appointment would\n\nresult in more than two members serving from the same modified\n\ndistrict. No county shall be represented by more than one member.\n\nThe Board shall meet at least every other month upon the call of the\n\nchair. Board members shall serve without compensation, but shall be\n\nreimbursed for their necessary travel expenses as provided by the\n\nState Travel Reimbursement Act, Section 500.1 et seq. of Title 74 of\n\nthe Oklahoma Statutes. The terms of office for the initial\n\nappointees to the Board shall be as follows:\n\n1. The term for Position One shall expire on July 1, 1989;\n\n2. The term for Position Two shall expire on July 1, 1990;\n\n3. The term for Position Three shall expire on July 1, 1991;\n\n4. The term for Position Four shall expire on July 1, 1992; and\n\n5.
