Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1373.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Postconviction DNA Act:\n\n1. \"Biological material\" means the contents of a sexual assault\n\nevidence collection kit as well as any item that contains or\n\nincludes blood, semen, hair, saliva, skin tissue, fingernail\n\nscrapings or parings, bone, bodily fluids or other identifiable\n\nbiological material that was collected as part of the criminal\n\ninvestigation or may reasonably be used to incriminate or exculpate\n\nany person for an offense and that may be suitable for forensic DNA\n\ntesting. This definition applies whether the material was\n\ncatalogued separately including, but not limited to, on a swab, a\n\nslide or on any other evidence;\n\n2. \"DNA\" means deoxyribonucleic acid;\n\n3. \"Document\" or \"documents\" means any tangible thing upon\n\nwhich any expression, communication or representation has been\n\nrecorded by any means and includes any writing, electronic writing,\n\nrecording, drawing, map, graph or chart, photograph and other data\n\ncompilation in the actual or constructive possession, custody, care\n\nor control of the government which pertains directly or indirectly\n\nto any matter relevant to the issues in a criminal case; and\n\n4. \"Guardian of a convicted person\" means a person who is the\n\nlegal guardian of the convicted person, whether the legal\n\nrelationship exists because of the age of the convicted person or\n\nbecause of the physical or mental incompetency of the convicted\n\nperson.","path":["OK Code","Title 22"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os22.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6ca9a05a3a2ef199fbd4134fcd5d7df62d9bcfa14cbd7705cfb88b6059e1cbab","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-1373","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-1373.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
