Stat. tit. 22, § 22-185","heading":"Verbal warning or taking before magistrate for misdemeanor","body":"charges.\n\nIf the offense charged in the warrant issued is a misdemeanor,\n\nthe law enforcement officer may:\n\n1. Issue a verbal warning about the existence of the warrant\n\nand further advise the defendant to contact the clerk of the court\n\nfor the purpose of resolving the outstanding warrant. All verbal\n\nwarnings shall be documented by the law enforcement officer on a\n\ndepartment-issued warning ticket; or\n\n2. Take the defendant before a magistrate of the county in\n\nwhich the warrant was issued, who must admit the defendant to bail,\n\nand immediately transmit the warrant, complaint, depositions, if\n\nany, and undertaking, to the clerk of the court in which the\n\ndefendant is required to appear.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 5643.
