Stat. tit. 22, § 22-20","heading":"Incarceration of single custodial parents - Child","body":"placement.\n\nWhen any person is convicted of an offense against the laws of\n\nthis state and is sentenced to imprisonment to be served in a county\n\njail or a state correctional institution, the judge of the district\n\ncourt shall inquire whether such person is a single custodial parent\n\nof any minor child. If such person is a single custodial parent,\n\nthe judge shall inquire into the arrangements that have been made\n\nfor the care and custody of the child during the period of\n\nincarceration of the custodial parent. If the judge finds that no\n\narrangements have been made or such arrangements pose a safety\n\nthreat to the child, the court shall make a referral to the\n\nDepartment of Human Services by contacting the statewide child abuse\n\nand neglect hotline and shall complete a form, which shall be\n\nprovided by the Department and approved by the Administrative\n\nDirector of the Courts, indicating that the defendant has been\n\nsentenced to incarceration and that the defendant has sole custody\n\nof a minor child or children and has not made appropriate\n\narrangements for the care of the child or children during the period\n\nof incarceration.","path":["OK Code","Title 22"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os22.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"78fed5475c021a6d043bc52de5424eccc8d155ddfb1b1c8176efa03df1a9a821","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
