Stat. tit. 22, § 22-324","heading":"Oath to foreman","body":"The following oath must be administered to the foreman of the\n\ngrand jury:\n\nYou, as foreman of this grand jury, shall diligently inquire\n\ninto, and true presentment make, of all public offenses against this\n\nstate, committed or triable within this county (or subdivisions), of\n\nwhich you shall have or can obtain legal evidence. You will keep\n\nyour own counsel, and that of your fellows, and of the state, and\n\nwill not, except when required in the due course of judicial\n\nproceedings, disclose the testimony of any witness examined before\n\nyou, nor anything which you or any other grand juror may have said,\n\nnor the manner in which you or any other grand juror may have voted\n\non any matter before you. You shall present no person through\n\nmalice, hatred, or ill will, nor leave any unpresented through fear,\n\nfavor or affection, or for any reward, or the promise or hope\n\nthereof; but in all your presentments, or indictments, you shall\n\npresent the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,\n\naccording to the best of your skill and understanding.
