Stat. tit. 22, § 22-655","heading":"Peremptory challenges - Number allowed","body":"In all criminal cases the prosecution and the defendant are each\n\nentitled to the following peremptory challenges: Provided, that if\n\ntwo or more defendants are tried jointly they shall join in their\n\nchallenges; provided, that when two or more defendants have\n\ninconsistent defenses they shall be granted separate challenges for\n\neach defendant as hereinafter set forth.\n\nFirst. In prosecutions for first degree murder, nine jurors\n\neach.\n\nSecond. In other felonies, five jurors each.\n\nThird.
