Stat. tit. 22, § 22-723","heading":"Witness from another state summoned to testify in this","body":"state.\n\nA. If a person in any state, which by its laws has made\n\nprovision for commanding persons within its borders to attend and\n\ntestify in criminal prosecutions, or grand jury investigations\n\ncommenced or about to commence, in this state, is a material witness\n\nin a prosecution pending in a court of record in this state, or in a\n\ngrand jury investigation which has commenced or is about to\n\ncommence, a judge of such court may issue a certificate under the\n\nseal of the court stating these facts and specifying the number of\n\ndays the witness will be required. Said certificate may include a\n\nrecommendation that the witness be taken into immediate custody and\n\ndelivered to an officer of this state to assure his attendance in\n\nthis state. This certificate shall be presented to a judge of a\n\ncourt of record in the county in which the witness is found.\n\nB. A witness who has appeared in accordance with the provisions\n\nof the summons shall not be required to remain within this state a\n\nlonger period of time than the period mentioned in the certificate,\n\nunless otherwise ordered by the court. If such witness, after coming\n\ninto this state, fails without good cause to attend and testify as\n\ndirected in the summons, he shall be punished in the manner provided\n\nfor the punishment of any witness who disobeys a summons issued from\n\na court of record in this state.\n\nC. If the witness is summoned to attend and testify in this\n\nstate he shall be tendered, at the time he is ordered to appear,\n\ntravel and expenses pursuant to Section 718 of this title for each\n\nday he is required to travel and attend as a witness.
