Stat. tit. 22, § 22-988.15","heading":"Duties of state agency","body":"The Community Sentencing Division within the Department of\n\nCorrections shall have the duty to:\n\n1. Administer a statewide community sentencing system pursuant\n\nto the provisions of the Oklahoma Community Sentencing Act and other\n\nprovisions of law;\n\n2. Establish goals and standards for the statewide community\n\nsentencing system and the local community sentencing systems;\n\n3. Promulgate rules pursuant to the Administrative Procedures\n\nAct for the implementation and operation of the Oklahoma Community\n\nSentencing Act;\n\n4. Provide technical assistance and administrative support to\n\neach local community sentencing system. The technical assistance\n\nshall include, but not be limited to, information on:\n\na. corrections system design,\n\nb. administration,\n\nc. development, monitoring, and evaluating of programs\n\nand services,\n\nd. program identification and specifications,\n\ne. offender risk management,\n\nf. supervision of offenders,\n\ng. planning and budgeting,\n\nh. grant applications, and\n\ni. preparation and submission of documents, data,\n\nbudgets, and system plans;\n\n5. Coordinate and collaborate with other state agencies for\n\nservices and technical assistance to each local community sentencing\n\nsystem;\n\n6. Apply for and accept money and other assets to be utilized\n\nfor support of a statewide community sentencing system and to\n\nallocate and disburse appropriated funds to local community\n\nsentencing systems through an appropriate funding method;\n\n7. Review, analyze and fund local system plans within budgetary\n\nlimitations;\n\n8. Contract with local service providers and state agencies for\n\nservices to the local system;\n\n9. Identify and solicit other funding sources and resources to\n\nsupport the statewide community sentencing system;\n\n10. Request post-audits of state funds;\n\n11. Monitor and coordinate local systems;\n\n12. Provide performance-based evaluations for all service\n\nproviders of the statewide system;\n\n13. Report annually by January 15 to the Legislature and\n\nGovernor on the statewide system. The report shall provide an\n\nevaluation of the effectiveness of the Oklahoma Community Sentencing\n\nAct in terms of public safety, appropriate range of community\n\npunishments, cost-effectiveness, performance-based effectiveness in\n\nreducing recidivism, utilization by the judiciary, resource\n\nallocation, reduced state and local institutional receptions, if\n\nany, and statistical data, including, but not limited to, community\n\nsentencing participation by county, total number of qualifying and\n\nnonqualifying community sentences per month for each local community\n\nsentencing system, total number of community sentences ordered per\n\nmonth, program participation and the annual average cost per\n\noffender. A copy of the report shall also be submitted to the\n\nOklahoma Statistical Analysis Center, a unit of the Oklahoma State\n\nBureau of Investigation, which shall publish the annual report on\n\nthe website of the Bureau; and\n\n14. Disseminate information to local administrators and\n\ncommunity sentencing systems concerning corrections issues\n\nincluding, but not limited to:\n\na. punishment options,\n\nb. disciplinary sanctions,\n\nc. resource allocation,\n\nd. administration,\n\ne. legal issues,\n\nf. supervision and risk management,\n\ng. treatment methodology and services,\n\nh. education and vocational services,\n\ni. service and program monitoring and evaluation methods,\n\nj. grants and funding assistance,\n\nk. data and record keeping, and\n\nl. offender characteristics.","path":["OK Code","Title 22"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os22.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"be859dfe1775ee840077bde287d5afc411a4da1d059264276bdfdde7e837a37c","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-988.14","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-988.16"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
