The Office of the Attorney General, at the request of the\n\ncourt, shall determine whether a local crimestoppers program is\n\nqualified to receive repayments of rewards pursuant to Section 1 of\n\nthis act. The Office of the Attorney General shall approve the\n\nlocal crimestoppers program to receive those repayments if,\n\nconsidering the organization, continuity, leadership, community\n\nsupport, audit pursuant to subsection B of this section and general\n\nconduct of the program, the Office of the Attorney General\n\ndetermines that the repayments will be spent to further the crime\n\nprevention purposes of the program.\n\nB. Prior to certification by the Office of the Attorney General\n\nfor a local crimestoppers program to receive repayments pursuant to\n\nSection 1 of this act, each program is subject to an audit by an\n\nindependent accounting firm which must be submitted to the Office of\n\nthe Attorney General for review. In order to maintain\n\ncertification, the program shall be so audited each year and the\n\naudit submitted prior to July 1 of each year.\n\nC. The Office of the Attorney General may certify a local\n\ncrimestoppers program for purposes of Section 1 of this act even if\n\na judge has not requested a determination for that program and may\n\nmaintain a current list of approved local crimestoppers programs.\n\nD. A local crimestoppers program certified by the Office of the\n\nAttorney General to receive repayments pursuant to Section 1 of this\n\nact shall use that money for the sole purpose of rewards to persons\n\nwho report information on criminal activity only if that information\n\nleads to a defendant being indicted for or charged by information\n\nwith a felony offense.","path":["OK Code","Title 22"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os22.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d4767a76eb707247690a8170e387015d8864827d496d8aead7b3de79a7ea049d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-991f-1.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-991h"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
