Stat. tit. 24, § 24-147","heading":"Disclosures to consumer - Applicability of disclosure","body":"requirements - Credit histories - Fees.\n\nA. Every consumer reporting agency shall, upon request and\n\nproper identification of any consumer, clearly and accurately\n\ndisclose to the consumer:\n\n1. The nature and substance of all information, except medical\n\ninformation, in its files on the consumer at the time of the\n\nrequest;\n\n2. The sources of the information, except that the sources of\n\ninformation acquired solely for use in preparing an investigative\n\nconsumer report and actually used for no other purpose need not be\n\ndisclosed. Provided, in the event an action is brought under this\n\nact, such sources shall be available to the plaintiff under\n\nappropriate discovery procedures in the court in which the action is\n\nbrought; and\n\n3. The recipients of any consumer report on the consumer which\n\nit has furnished:\n\na. for employment purposes within the two-year period\n\npreceding the request, and\n\nb. for any other purpose within the six-month period\n\npreceding the request.\n\nB. The requirements of subsection A of this section respecting\n\nthe disclosure of sources of information and the recipients of\n\nconsumer reports do not apply to information received or consumer\n\nreports furnished prior to the effective date of this act, except to\n\nthe extent that the matter involved is contained in the files of the\n\nconsumer reporting agency on that date.\n\nC. All consumer reporting agencies, as such agencies are\n\ndefined in the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C.,\n\nSections 1681 through 1681t, which operate offices in the State of\n\nOklahoma shall allow any requesting person to receive his or her\n\ncredit history.\n\nD. A consumer reporting agency shall make all disclosures and\n\nfurnish all consumer reports without charge to the consumer if\n\nrequested within thirty (30) days after receipt by such consumer of\n\na notification from a debt collection agency affiliated with such\n\nconsumer reporting agency stating that the consumer's credit rating\n\nmay be or has been adversely affected. Otherwise, the consumer\n\nreporting agency may impose a reasonable charge on the consumer:\n\n1. For making disclosure to such consumer, the charge for which\n\nshall be indicated to the consumer prior to making disclosure; and\n\n2. For furnishing credit histories authorized in subsection C\n\nof this section, notifications, statements, summaries or\n\ncodifications to persons designated by the consumer, the charge for\n\nwhich shall be indicated to the consumer prior to furnishing such\n\ninformation.\n\nProvided, no charge may be made for notifying such persons of the\n\ndeletion of information which is found to be inaccurate or which can\n\nno longer be verified.","path":["OK Code","Title 24"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os24.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2c855d2b211f4014f81de3053180d2c3c74c1878300b3bae35f67e45c5a9c888","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-24-24-146","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-24-24-148"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
