Stat. tit. 25, § 25-106","heading":"Newspapers for publication of legal notices","body":"No legal notice, advertisement, or publication of any kind\n\nrequired or provided for by the laws of this state to be published\n\nin a newspaper shall have force or effect unless published in a\n\nlegal newspaper of the county. A legal newspaper of the county is\n\nany newspaper which, during a period of one hundred four (104)\n\nconsecutive weeks immediately prior to the first publication of such\n\nnotice, advertisement, or publication:\n\n1. has maintained a paid general subscription circulation in\n\nthe county; and\n\n2. has been admitted to the United States mails as paid second-\n\nclass mail matter; and\n\n3. has been continuously and uninterruptedly published in the\n\ncounty.\n\nIf there is no legal newspaper in a county, then all legal notices,\n\nadvertisements, or publications of any kind required or provided for\n\nby the laws of this state shall be published in a legal newspaper in\n\nan adjoining county of this state, which newspaper has general\n\ncirculation in the county or political subdivision in which such\n\nnotice is required.\n\nNothing in this section shall invalidate the publication of such\n\nlegal notices, advertisements, or publications in a newspaper which\n\nhas moved its place of publication from one location in the county\n\nto another location in the same county without breaking the\n\ncontinuity of its regular issues for the requisite length of time,\n\nor the name of which may have been changed when said change of\n\nlocation was made as permitted by United States postal laws and\n\nregulations. Failure to issue or publish said newspaper for a\n\nperiod of fourteen (14) days due to fire, accident, or other\n\nunforeseen cause, or by reason of the pendency of mortgage\n\nforeclosure, attachment, execution, or other legal proceedings\n\nagainst the type, presses, or other personal property used by the\n\nnewspaper, shall not be deemed a failure to maintain continuous and\n\nconsecutive publication as required by the provisions of this\n\nsection, nor shall said failure invalidate the publication of a\n\nnotice otherwise valid. Failure to issue or publish a newspaper\n\nqualified to publish legal notices, advertisements, or publications\n\nof any kind, for a period totaling not more than fourteen (14)\n\nconsecutive days during a calendar year shall not be deemed a\n\nfailure to maintain continuous and consecutive publication as\n\nrequired by the provisions of this section, nor shall said failure\n\ninvalidate the publication of a notice otherwise valid.","path":["OK Code","Title 25"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os25.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"178b82477672257e5cf86aeacdfb327b8469efef44f130754d1f62279d249a3f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-25-25-105","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-25-25-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
