Within the limitations provided by law, the Attorney\n\nGeneral's Office of Civil Rights Enforcement has the following\n\nadditional powers:\n\n1. To promote the creation of local commissions on human\n\nrights, and to contract with individuals and state, local and other\n\nagencies, both public and private, including agencies of the federal\n\ngovernment and of other states;\n\n2. To accept public grants or private gifts, bequests, or other\n\npayments;\n\n3. To receive, investigate, seek to conciliate, hold hearings\n\non, and pass upon complaints alleging violations of Section 1101 et\n\nseq. of this title;\n\n4. To furnish technical assistance requested by persons subject\n\nto this act to further compliance with Section 1101 et seq. of this\n\ntitle or an order issued thereunder;\n\n5. To make provisions for technical and clerical assistance to\n\nan advisory committee or committees appointed in accordance with\n\nparagraph (b) of Section 953 of Title 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n6. To require answers to interrogatories, under the procedures\n\nestablished by Section 3233 of Title 12 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\ncompel the attendance of witnesses, examine witnesses under oath or\n\naffirmation, and require the production of documents in connection\n\nwith complaints filed under Section 1101 et seq. of this title, said\n\npowers to be exercised only in relation to areas directly and\n\nmaterially related to the complaint;\n\n7. To hear, and issue orders on, complaints involving state\n\ngovernment agencies and departments on the same basis as complaints\n\ninvolving private employers; and\n\n8. To provide technical assistance and public information to\n\nassist in preventing and eliminating discriminatory housing\n\npractices; and\n\n9. To promulgate rules as necessary to implement the provisions\n\nof Section 1101 et seq. of this title.\n\nB. The Attorney General shall:\n\n1. At least annually, publish a written report recommending\n\nlegislative or other action to carry out the purposes of Section\n\n1101 et seq. of this title as it relates to housing discrimination;\n\n2. Make studies relating to the nature and extent of\n\ndiscriminatory housing practices in this state; and\n\n3.
