Except as otherwise provided by law or a court order, no\n\nperson, corporation, association, organization or state-supported\n\ninstitution, or any individual employed by any of these entities,\n\nmay procure, solicit to perform, arrange for the performance of or\n\nperform an assessment for mental health therapy on a minor without\n\nfirst obtaining the written consent of a parent or a legal guardian\n\nof the minor child. Provided, however, that if written consent is\n\nprovided to a school district for assessment or treatment, such\n\nconsent shall be effective for the school year for which it is\n\ngranted and shall be renewed each subsequent school year. If an\n\nassessment or treatment is performed through telemedicine at a\n\nschool site and if consent has been provided by the parent and is\n\ncurrently effective, the health professional shall not be required\n\nto verify that the parent is at the site. However, a child shall\n\nnot be seen without consent.\n\nB. This section does not apply when an emergency exists that\n\nrequires a person to perform mental health screening or provide\n\nmental health treatment to prevent serious injury to or save the\n\nlife of a minor child.\n\nC.
