Stat. tit. 25, § 25-26","heading":"Other definitions","body":"Words used in the present tense include future as well as the\n\npresent; the word \"oath\" includes \"affirmation;\" and every mode of\n\noral statement under oath or affirmation is embraced by the term\n\n\"testify,\" and every written one in the term \"depose;\" \"signature\"\n\nor \"subscription\" includes mark, when the person cannot write, his\n\nname being written near it, and written by a person who writes his\n\nown name as a witness. The following words also have the\n\nsignification attached to them in this section, unless otherwise\n\napparent from the context:\n\n1. The word \"property\" includes property, real and personal.\n\n2. The words \"real property\" are coextensive with lands,\n\ntenements and hereditaments.\n\n3. The words \"personal property\" include money, goods,\n\nchattels, things in action and evidences of debt.\n\n4.
