Stat. tit. 25, § 25-35","heading":"Geology, geologist","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Statutes:\n\n1. \"Geology\" means the science which is:\n\na. the study of the earth and its origin and history, in\n\ngeneral,\n\nb. the investigation, including collection of specimens,\n\nof the earth's constituent rocks, minerals, fossils,\n\nsolids, fluids including surface and underground\n\nwaters, gases, and other materials, from the center of\n\nits core to the outer limits of its atmosphere, and\n\nc. the application and utilization of this knowledge of\n\nthe earth for the benefit of mankind; provided, the\n\nknowledge and principles of geology may also be\n\napplied to extraterrestrial bodies; and\n\n2. \"Geologist\" means a person who:\n\na. has earned a baccalaureate or higher degree in a\n\ngeological science from an institution of higher\n\neducation which is accredited by a regional or\n\nnational accrediting agency, with a minimum of thirty\n\n(30) semester hours or forty-five (45) quarter hours\n\nof undergraduate or graduate work in a field of\n\ngeology, or\n\nb. has a specific and continuous record of related and\n\nverifiable geological work experience for five (5)\n\nyears prior to the effective date of this act.\n\nPublication in a geologic publication or prior\n\nqualification as an expert witness in an\n\nadministrative or judicial proceeding, hearing, or\n\ntrial shall be prima facie verification of geological\n\nwork experience.","path":["OK Code","Title 25"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os25.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3cb906faefb785f65f950a35dafd99ac9c275c470a2d49cfc3c20b2649686a5f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-25-25-34","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-25-25-36"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
