Stat. tit. 25, § 25-84","heading":"Oklahoma Historical Day","body":"Now, Therefore, be it resolved by the House of Representatives\n\nof the Seventeenth Session of the Oklahoma Legislature, the Senate\n\njoining therein, that October 10th be declared Oklahoma Historical\n\nDay and that the same be observed by the Governor issuing a\n\nproclamation setting forth that Major Jean Pierre Chouteau\n\nestablished the first white settlement on October 10th, 1796 at\n\nSalina, and from that date many struggles for the advancement of\n\ncivilization worthy of mention and discussion, and that it is\n\nfitting and proper for universities, colleges and schools throughout\n\nthe state to observe said day by extra programs depicting the\n\nadvancement and history of the State of Oklahoma, that all officers,\n\nstate, county, and city be requested to observe and call attention\n\nof the citizens everywhere, that the mayors of cities and towns be\n\nrequested to issue proclamations calling attention to Oklahoma\n\nHistorical Day.","path":["OK Code","Title 25"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os25.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ac0b063f0d5b23425941aadf24fc50dea43d36c6186d0b3572b20af813519120","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-25-25-83","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-25-25-85"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
