No registered voter shall be permitted to vote in any\n\nPrimary Election or Runoff Primary Election of any political party\n\nexcept the political party of which his registration form shows him\n\nto be a member, except as otherwise provided by this section.\n\nB. 1. A recognized political party may permit registered\n\nvoters designated as Independents pursuant to the provisions of\n\nSection 4-112 of this title to vote in a Primary Election or Runoff\n\nPrimary Election of the party.\n\n2. The state chairman of the party shall, between November 1\n\nand 30 of every odd-numbered year, notify the Secretary of the State\n\nElection Board as to whether or not the party intends to permit\n\nregistered voters designated as Independents to vote in a Primary\n\nElection or Runoff Primary Election of the party. If the state\n\nchairman notifies the Secretary of the State Election Board of the\n\nparty's intention to so permit, registered voters designated as\n\nIndependents shall be permitted to vote in any Primary Election or\n\nRunoff Primary Election of the party held in the following two (2)\n\ncalendar years. If the state chairman of one party notifies the\n\nSecretary of the State Election Board of the party's intent to so\n\npermit, the notification period specified in this paragraph shall be\n\nextended to December 15 for the state chairman of any other party to\n\nso notify or to change prior notification. A registered voter\n\ndesignated as Independent shall not be permitted to vote in a\n\nPrimary Election or Runoff Primary Election of more than one party.\n\n3. Failure to so notify the Secretary of the State Election\n\nBoard shall serve to prohibit registered voters designated as\n\nIndependents from voting in a Primary Election or Runoff Primary\n\nElection of the party.\n\n4. A group of persons seeking to form a recognized political\n\nparty pursuant to the provisions of Section 1-108 of this title\n\nshall, upon filing of the petitions seeking recognition of the\n\npolitical party with the Secretary of the State Election Board,\n\nnotify the Secretary of the State Election Board as to whether or\n\nnot the party intends to permit registered voters designated as\n\nIndependents to vote in a Primary Election or Runoff Primary\n\nElection of the party. If the party is recognized and the group of\n\npersons seeking recognition of the party notifies the Secretary of\n\nthe State Election Board of such intention, registered voters\n\ndesignated as Independents shall be permitted to vote in any Primary\n\nElection or Runoff Primary Election of the party held prior to\n\nJanuary 1 of the following even-numbered year.","path":["OK Code","Title 26"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os26.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6f24405ebca57e180961be13c8998b41f54362fb0b03670f03abb5f538c7be26","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-1-103","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-1-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
