Stat. tit. 26, § 26-11-103","heading":"Terms of office","body":"If the term of the office to which the judicial officer was\n\nappointed expires on the second Monday in January following the\n\nelection, the election shall be for a term of six (6) years\n\nbeginning on the second Monday in January following the election. If\n\nthe term for such office does not expire on the second Monday in\n\nJanuary following the election, the election shall be for the\n\nunexpired term of the office to which he was appointed.
