Except as otherwise provided by law, whenever a vacancy\n\nshall occur in the office of a member of the United States House of\n\nRepresentatives from Oklahoma, such vacancy shall be filled at a\n\nSpecial Election to be called by the Governor, who shall issue a\n\nWrit of Election within thirty (30) days after such vacancy occurs.\n\nB. If the vacancy occurs in the office of a member of the\n\nUnited States House of Representatives in an even-numbered year, the\n\nRegular Primary Election, Runoff Primary Election or General\n\nElection for that office shall be deemed to also serve as a Special\n\nElection to fill the unexpired term as designated by the Governor.\n\nWithin thirty (30) days after such vacancy occurs, the Governor\n\nshall issue a Writ of Election declaring the same, and the candidate\n\nelected at the Regular Election shall be deemed to have also been\n\nelected at a Special Election to fill the unexpired term.\n\nC. If a vacancy or irrevocable resignation occurs in the office\n\nof a member of the United States Senate from Oklahoma, the vacancy\n\nshall be filled as provided in subsection C of Section 10 of Title\n\n51 of the Oklahoma Statutes. The special election called by the\n\nGovernor shall be subject to the following provisions:\n\n1. A Special Primary, Runoff Primary and General Election shall\n\nbe held concurrently with the next available regularly scheduled\n\nstatewide Primary, Runoff Primary and General Election, and a\n\nspecial candidate filing period shall be on the same dates as the\n\nregular candidate filing period for those elections;\n\n2. Provided, if a vacancy occurs in an even-numbered year on or\n\nbefore March 1, then the special election, if necessary, shall be\n\nheld that same year in the manner provided in paragraph 1 of this\n\nsubsection. However, if the vacancy occurs after March 1 in an\n\neven-numbered year, then the special election shall be held at the\n\nnext subsequent regularly scheduled statewide regular Primary,\n\nRunoff Primary and General Elections;\n\n3. Provided, if the vacant office is already scheduled to be\n\nfilled for a full term at the next available regularly scheduled\n\nelection, then no special election shall be called. In such case,\n\nthe candidate elected to the office at the regularly scheduled\n\nelection shall be deemed to also have been elected to fill the\n\nvacancy and shall be eligible to assume the office upon the official\n\ncertification of the election by the State Election Board.\n\n4. An irrevocable resignation shall occur when a member of the\n\nUnited States Senate from Oklahoma provides a written letter of\n\nresignation to the Secretary of State as provided in Section 12-119\n\nof this title that serves notice of the Senate member's resignation\n\non a date certain.\n\nD.
