Stat. tit. 26, § 26-14-137","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Uniform Military and Overseas Voters Act:\n\n1. “Covered voter” means:\n\na. a uniformed-service voter or an overseas voter who is\n\nregistered to vote in this state,\n\nb. a uniformed-service voter defined in subparagraph a of\n\nparagraph 9 of this section, whose voting residence is\n\nin this state and who otherwise satisfies this state’s\n\nvoter eligibility requirements,\n\nc. an overseas voter who, before leaving the United\n\nStates, was last eligible to vote in this state and,\n\nexcept for a state residency requirement, otherwise\n\nsatisfies this state’s voter eligibility requirements,\n\nd. an overseas voter who, before leaving the United\n\nStates, would have been last eligible to vote in this\n\nstate had the voter then been of voting age and,\n\nexcept for a state residency requirement, otherwise\n\nsatisfies this state’s voter eligibility requirements,\n\nor\n\ne. an overseas voter who was born outside the United\n\nStates, is not described in subparagraph c or d of\n\nthis paragraph, and, except for a state residency\n\nrequirement, otherwise satisfies this state’s voter\n\neligibility requirements, if:\n\n(1) the last place where a parent or legal guardian\n\nof the voter was, or under the Uniform Military\n\nand Overseas Voters Act would have been, eligible\n\nto vote before leaving the United States is\n\nwithin this state, and\n\n(2) the voter has not previously registered to vote\n\nin any other state;\n\n2. “Dependent” means an individual recognized as a dependent by\n\na uniformed service;\n\n3. “Federal postcard application” means the application\n\nprescribed under Section 101(b)(2) of the Uniformed and Overseas\n\nCitizens Absentee Voting Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973ff(b)(2);\n\n4. “Federal write-in absentee ballot” means the ballot\n\ndescribed in Section 103 of the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens\n\nAbsentee Voting Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973ff-2;\n\n5. “Military-overseas ballot” means:\n\na. a federal write-in absentee ballot,\n\nb. a ballot specifically prepared or distributed for use\n\nby a covered voter in accordance with Section 14-136\n\net seq. of this title, or\n\nc. a ballot cast by a covered voter in accordance with\n\nthe Uniform Military and Overseas Voters Act;\n\n6. “Overseas voter” means a United States citizen who is\n\noutside the United States;\n\n7. “State” means a state of the United States, the District of\n\nColumbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, or any\n\nterritory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the\n\nUnited States;\n\n8. “Uniformed service” means:\n\na. active and reserve components of the Army, Navy, Air\n\nForce, Marine Corps, Space Force, or Coast Guard of\n\nthe United States,\n\nb. the Merchant Marine, the commissioned corps of the\n\nPublic Health Service, or the commissioned corps of\n\nthe National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of\n\nthe United States, or\n\nc. the National Guard and state militia;\n\n9. “Uniformed-service voter” means an individual who is\n\nqualified to vote and is:\n\na. a member of the active or reserve components of the\n\nArmy, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, or\n\nCoast Guard of the United States who is on active\n\nduty,\n\nb. a member of the Merchant Marine, the commissioned\n\ncorps of the Public Health Service, or the\n\ncommissioned corps of the National Oceanic and\n\nAtmospheric Administration of the United States,\n\nc. a member on activated status of the National Guard or\n\nstate militia, or\n\nd. a spouse or dependent of a member referred to in this\n\nparagraph; and\n\n10. “United States”, used in the territorial sense, means the\n\nseveral states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United\n\nStates Virgin Islands, and any territory or insular possession\n\nsubject to the jurisdiction of the United States.","path":["OK Code","Title 26"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os26.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a87f2a1ad5bc00313e644eb8d0a1d6746c163af8d64a645fad9f862dcb7c01e4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-14-136","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-14-138"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
