Stat. tit. 26, § 26-2-106","heading":"State Election Board duties – Altering or amending","body":"election procedures.\n\nA. The State Election Board shall perform such duties as may be\n\nprescribed by law.\n\nB. 1. No agency, board, or commission or other entity of state\n\ngovernment, or officer of this state, or state employee, or a county\n\nelection board, shall enter into a legal agreement, consent decree,\n\nor settlement of any kind which would alter or amend election\n\nprocedures prescribed by the Legislature in statute. Any such\n\nagreement, consent decree or settlement entered into in violation of\n\nthis subsection shall be void and unenforceable.\n\n2. Neither the Governor nor any officer of the state nor any\n\npolitical subdivision of the state, nor any court created by the\n\nOklahoma Constitution or by statute, shall amend or alter the\n\nelection procedures prescribed by the Legislature in statute, except\n\nwhere specifically authorized by statute.\n\nC. Either chamber of the Legislature, acting by the Speaker of\n\nthe Oklahoma House of Representatives or the President Pro Tempore\n\nof the Oklahoma State Senate or both such persons jointly, may\n\nintervene in any action, suit, or proceeding that challenges or\n\nattempts to modify election procedures prescribed by statute.","path":["OK Code","Title 26"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os26.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"874b644f8913b6a45afcd3010308edb2f3cf5902ccdae3676b87ccbe7e910507","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-2-101.9","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-2-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
