Stat. tit. 26, § 26-2-121","heading":"Offices of county election boards – Election security","body":"measures.\n\nA. It shall be the mandatory duty of the county commissioners\n\nof each county to furnish, at county expense, in each county seat a\n\nsuitable office for the county election board. The office shall\n\nprovide adequate space for storage of election records and supplies,\n\nvoting devices, ballot boxes and adequate space for the exercise of\n\nother functions required by law of the county election board and\n\nshall be equipped with suitable furniture and office equipment and a\n\ntelephone. The office shall be convenient to the public, shall have\n\nfurniture, furnishings and fixtures and other equipment comparable\n\nto other county offices within the county, and necessary to the\n\noperation of the office.\n\nB. 1. The county commissioners of each county shall, at county\n\nexpense, implement security measures at the county election board\n\nthat are equivalent to security measures the county provides to its\n\nother county agencies, in order to ensure the county election board\n\noffice is adequately protected from physical intrusions or attacks\n\nand to provide cybersecurity for county-owned computer systems\n\noperated by the county election board.\n\n2. County officials shall immediately notify the Secretary of\n\nthe State Election Board upon learning of an attempted or successful\n\nphysical or cyber attack or intrusion committed against the county\n\nelection board.\n\nC. To ensure the security of election records, equipment,\n\ncomputers, software, ballots, supplies and other materials necessary\n\nto conduct elections:\n\n1. The county election board shall not share storage space\n\nwhere ballots, voter registration records or election equipment are\n\nstored with any other county agency unless authorized by the\n\nSecretary of the State Election Board; and\n\n2. No county personnel other than those employed by the county\n\nelection board shall be assigned workspace within the physical\n\noffices that are assigned to the county election board.\n\nProvided, nothing in this subsection shall prohibit the county\n\nelection board office from being located within the county\n\ncourthouse or another county-owned building shared by multiple\n\ncounty agencies, nor shall it restrict the county election board\n\nfrom utilizing common areas intended for use by multiple county\n\nagencies other than as specifically prohibited in this subsection.\n\nD.
