The Secretary of the State Election Board is hereby\n\nauthorized beginning July 1, 1989, to purchase equipment for and\n\nimplement a unitary, unified, integrated system of election\n\nadministration for the State of Oklahoma that includes an electronic\n\ndata processing system for maintenance of voter registration\n\nrecords, certification of election results and other election-\n\nrelated applications, and the installation of electronic, optical\n\nscanning voting devices compatible with the same system in every\n\nprecinct polling place.\n\nB. The Secretary of the State Election Board is authorized to\n\nadopt procedures consistent, insofar as practicable, with existing\n\nlaw for implementation of the system.\n\nC. Except as provided in subsection A of this section, no\n\nelectronic data processing applications shall be implemented by a\n\ncounty election board, nor shall voting devices be purchased by a\n\ncounty, except for those electronic data processing applications and\n\nvoting devices already in use or for which a contract had been\n\nsigned by no later than March 31, 1986.\n\nD.
