Prior to the day of the election, it shall be the duty of\n\nthe secretary of the county election board to prepare for each\n\nprecinct where an election is to be held in the county, a written or\n\nelectronic precinct registry which shall contain information on all\n\nregistered voters in the precinct as prescribed by the Secretary of\n\nthe State Election Board. The information which is or would be\n\ncontained in such a registry shall at all times be public\n\ninformation.\n\nB. The Secretary of the State Election Board may authorize the\n\nuse of electronic precinct registries by one or more county election\n\nboards. Subject to available funding, the Secretary may purchase\n\nany equipment and software necessary to implement an electronic\n\nprecinct registry system.
