Stat. tit. 26, § 26-7-136","heading":"Canvassing returns","body":"\n\nThe county election board shall convene at the county\n\ncourthouse, or at such other place as the county election board may\n\ndesignate on the day of each election, for the purpose of receiving\n\nthe official precinct returns and shall remain in session until such\n\nprecinct returns are all delivered. The board shall cause to be\n\naccumulated and listed the results of such election, as the official\n\nprecinct returns are received, in a manner and upon forms prescribed\n\nby the Secretary of the State Election Board. The county election\n\nboard shall use such precinct returns to certify the results of such\n\nelection for county officers and questions and shall transmit\n\nelectronically or in writing as prescribed by the Secretary of the\n\nState Election Board after 5 p.m. on Friday following the election\n\nto the State Election Board the completed county returns for all\n\nstate officers and questions. Such county returns shall be prima\n\nfacie evidence of the correctness of the result in the several\n\ncounties.
