Stat. tit. 26, § 26-8-115","heading":"Certification of results - Ties involving candidates","body":"When all the ballots have been counted, the county election\n\nboard shall tabulate the votes and shall certify the results. In\n\nthe case of county office, said certification shall be used to issue\n\nappropriate lists and certificates. In the case of state or\n\ndistrict office, copies of said certification shall be transmitted\n\nimmediately to the State Election Board, whose duty it shall be to\n\nretabulate all pertinent county returns and issue appropriate lists\n\nand certificates.\n\nIn the event of a tie involving candidates, the election board\n\nauthorized by law to issue the certified list or certificate of\n\nelection shall, at the meeting called to conduct the recount or to\n\nissue the certified list or certificate of election, in the presence\n\nof the candidates involved, if they or any of them desire to be\n\npresent, select the nominee or electee by lot substantially as\n\nprescribed in paragraphs 3 and 4 of Section 8-105 of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 26"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os26.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d743527b0fc0bc65d4e945fe1616e42e8769104e3679a62968155655e6636376","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-8-114","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-26-26-8-116"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
