Stat. tit. 26, § 26-8-116","heading":"Recount may cease - Rights of contestee","body":"Should the contestant at any time during the proceeding desire\n\nthat the recount be terminated, he may announce the same to the\n\ncounty election board. In such event, the recount shall end at that\n\npoint, and any changes be made a part of the certificate of vote.\n\nProvided further, however, that should any contestee desire that the\n\nrecount continue, he may petition in writing at the time of said\n\nannouncement for the remainder of the ballots in that county to be\n\nrecounted. Said petition must be filed immediately with the county\n\nelection board conducting said recount, and petition must be\n\naccompanied by either a cashier's check or certified check in an\n\namount equal to the deposit made by the contestant to conduct the\n\nrecount. If said recount was ordered by the Secretary of the State\n\nElection Board, said check shall be transmitted forthwith to the\n\nState Election Board.
