Each state environmental agency and each state agency with\n\nlimited environmental responsibilities shall develop, implement and\n\nutilize a complaint investigation and response process that will\n\nensure all state environmental agencies with authority to\n\ninvestigate, mitigate and resolve complaints, respond to complaints\n\nin a timely manner by initiating appropriate action and informing\n\nthe complainant regarding potential actions that may occur.\n\nComplainants shall also be notified, in writing:\n\n1. Of the resolution of the complaint; and\n\n2. Of the complainant's options for further resolution of the\n\ncomplaint if such complainant objects or disagrees with the actions\n\nor decision of the agency.\n\nB. Rules to implement such system shall be promulgated by each\n\nstate environmental agency.\n\nC. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly and\n\nwillfully file a false complaint with a state environmental agency\n\nor to knowingly and willfully misrepresent material information to a\n\nstate environmental agency or a state agency with limited\n\nenvironmental responsibilities relating to a complaint.\n\n2. Any person filing such false complaint or misrepresenting\n\nsuch material information shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor\n\nand may be reported to local law enforcement for criminal\n\ninvestigation and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a\n\nfine of not more than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00)\n\nor by imprisonment in the county jail for a term of not more than\n\nsixty (60) days or both such fine and imprisonment.","path":["OK Code","Title 27A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os27A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fd629477434b50bd7f051f23f7106f1eb9b3b27e2e9633031107b4cd1886d9df","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-1-1-203","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-1-1-205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
