Consistent with the terms of federal funding agreements and\n\nthe receipt of such funds by the Department for such information\n\nprograms, the Executive Director shall institute an education and\n\npublic information program, in order to inform the general public,\n\nand particularly parents of children residing in areas of\n\nsignificant exposure to sources of lead-based paint hazards,\n\nteachers, social workers and other human services personnel; owners\n\nof residential property, particularly property constructed previous\n\nto 1945; and health services personnel at major hospitals, of the\n\ndangers, frequency, and sources of lead-based paint hazards, and the\n\nmethods of preventing such hazards.\n\nB. Consistent with the terms of federal funding agreements and\n\nthe receipt of such funds by the Department for such an information\n\nprogram, the Department, after notice and opportunity for comment,\n\nshall publish, and from time to time revise, a lead-based paint\n\nhazard information pamphlet to be used in connection with the\n\nOklahoma Lead-based Paint Management Act and Section 1018 of the\n\nfederal Residential Lead-based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992.\n\nThe pamphlet shall:\n\n1. Contain information regarding the health risks associated\n\nwith exposure to lead;\n\n2. Provide information on the presence of lead-based paint\n\nhazards in federally assisted, federally owned, and target housing;\n\n3. Describe the risk of lead exposure for children under six\n\n(6) years of age, pregnant women, women of childbearing age, persons\n\nwith respiratory disease or disabilities, persons involved in home\n\nrenovation, and others residing in a dwelling with lead-based paint\n\nhazards;\n\n4. Describe the risks of renovation in a dwelling with lead-\n\nbased paint hazards;\n\n5. Provide information on approved methods for evaluating and\n\nreducing lead-based paint hazards and their effectiveness in\n\nidentifying, reducing, eliminating, or preventing exposure to lead-\n\nbased paint hazards;\n\n6. Advise persons how to obtain a list of certified\n\ncontractors;\n\n7. State that a hazard evaluation or on-site inspection for\n\nlead-based paint is recommended prior to the purchase, lease, or\n\nrenovation of target housing;\n\n8. State that certain state and local laws may impose\n\nadditional requirements related to lead-based paint in housing and\n\nprovide a listing of federal, state, and local agencies in each\n\nstate, including address and telephone number, that can provide\n\ninformation about applicable laws and available governmental and\n\nprivate assistance and financing; and\n\n9.
