The Department of Environmental Quality shall receive,\n\nreview, and evaluate permit applications for discharges to water\n\nbodies for water reuse projects. The Department shall approve such\n\napplications as comply with the applicable rules of the\n\nEnvironmental Quality Board for discharges to the waters of the\n\nState.\n\nB. 1. Subject to subsection A of this section, the Department\n\nshall issue permits for point-source discharges into sensitive\n\npublic and private water supplies, as defined by the rules of the\n\nOklahoma Water Resources Board, where such discharges do not contain\n\nconcentrations of pollutants greater than the existing\n\nconcentrations of such pollutants in the receiving water body. The\n\nissuance of such permit by the Department shall not be considered a\n\nviolation of the anti-degradation provisions of the State’s water\n\nquality standards.\n\n2. Upon initial receipt of an application for a discharge\n\npermit that is for the purpose of developing and implementing a\n\nwater reuse project, the Department shall acknowledge to the\n\napplicant in writing or by electronic mail the date that the\n\nDepartment received the application, thus initiating the period for\n\nadministrative review of the application. The Department shall\n\nreview the application in accordance with timelines for\n\nadministrative and technical review adopted by the Environmental\n\nQuality Board.\n\n3. Applications for point-source discharges into water bodies\n\ndesignated by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board as Sensitive Public\n\nor Private Water Supplies shall be considered Tier III permit\n\napplications under the Uniform Environmental Permitting Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 27A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os27A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f763305030b9561bc04e1bf6e007519a08ec82b1e809819ce30d7e2f43dbb90b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-2-2-104","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-2-2-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
