Stat. tit. 27A, § 27A-2-6-101","heading":"Definitions","body":"For purposes of this article:\n\n1. \"Aquifer storage and recovery (ASR)\" means delivery of water\n\ninto an aquifer for later recovery and use;\n\n2. \"Disposal system\" means pipelines or conduits, pumping\n\nstations and force mains and all other devices, construction,\n\nappurtenances and facilities used for collecting, conducting or\n\ndisposing of wastewater, including treatment systems;\n\n3. \"Drainage basin\" means all of the water collection area\n\nadjacent to the highest water line of a reservoir which may be\n\nconsidered by the Department to be necessary to protect adequately\n\nthe waters of the reservoir. The area may extend upstream on any\n\nwatercourse to any point within six hundred (600) feet of the\n\nhighest water line of the reservoir;\n\n4. \"Indirect discharge\" means the introduction of pollutants to\n\na publicly owned treatment works from a nondomestic source;\n\n5. \"Pollutant\" means dredged spoil, solid waste, incinerator\n\nresidue, sewage, garbage, sewage sludge, munitions, chemical wastes,\n\nbiological materials, radioactive materials, heat, wrecked or\n\ndiscarded equipment, rock, sand, cellar dirt and industrial,\n\nmunicipal, and agribusiness waste discharged into waters of the\n\nstate;\n\n6. \"Public water supply\" means water supplied to the public for\n\ndomestic or drinking purposes;\n\n7. \"Reservoir\" means any reservoir, whether completed or in the\n\nprocess of construction, whether or not used as a water supply, and\n\nwhether or not constructed by any recipient of water therefrom;\n\n8. \"Sludge\" means nonhazardous solid, semi-solid, or liquid\n\nresidue generated by the treatment of domestic sewage or wastewater\n\nby a treatment works, or water by a water supply system, or manure,\n\nor such residue, treated or untreated, which results from\n\nindustrial, nonindustrial, commercial, or agribusiness activities or\n\nindustrial or manufacturing processes and which is within the\n\njurisdiction of the Department;\n\n9. \"Small public sewage system\" means a nonindustrial\n\nwastewater treatment system which has an average flow of five\n\nthousand (5,000) gallons per day or less;\n\n10. \"Treatment works\" means any facility used for the purpose\n\nof treating or stabilizing wastes or wastewater. \"Treatment works\"\n\nshall be synonymous with \"wastewater works\"; and\n\n11. \"Water supply system\" means a water treatment plant, water\n\nwells, and all related pipelines or conduits, pumping stations and\n\nmains and all other appurtenances and devices used for distributing\n\ndrinking water to the public and, as such, shall be synonymous with\n\nwaterworks.","path":["OK Code","Title 27A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os27A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"235a6a95e14f8ffb012025713c4dd57260b75810b3b42a161c8440dfde56131f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-2-5-130","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-2-6-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
