Stat. tit. 27A, § 27A-2-6-102","heading":"Declaration of policy","body":"Whereas the pollution of the waters of this state constitutes a\n\nmenace to public health and welfare, creates public nuisances, is\n\nharmful to wildlife, fish and aquatic life, and impairs domestic,\n\nagricultural, industrial, recreational and other legitimate\n\nbeneficial uses of water, and whereas the problem of water pollution\n\nof this state is closely related to the problem of water pollution\n\nin adjoining states, it is hereby declared to be the public policy\n\nof this state to conserve the waters of the state and to protect,\n\nmaintain and improve the quality thereof for public water supplies,\n\nfor the propagation of wildlife, fish and aquatic life and for\n\ndomestic, agricultural, industrial, recreational and other\n\nlegitimate beneficial uses; to provide that no waste or pollutant be\n\ndischarged into any waters of the state or otherwise placed in a\n\nlocation likely to affect such waters without first being given the\n\ndegree of treatment or taking such other measures as necessary to\n\nprotect the legitimate beneficial uses of such waters; to provide\n\nfor the prevention, abatement and control of new or existing water\n\npollution; and to cooperate with other agencies of this state,\n\nagencies of other states and the federal government in carrying out\n\nthese objectives.","path":["OK Code","Title 27A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os27A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f1feeb25bc1eae2816bc057a02e2797e81bf94f6fa12fc605dcde5a7ef4f195b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-2-6-101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-2-6-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
