The Board shall have the authority to promulgate rules on\n\nthe following: the establishment of standards for safe levels of\n\nprotection against radiation; the maintenance and submission of\n\nrecords; the determination, prevention and control of radiation\n\nhazards; the reporting of radiation accidents; the handling, storage\n\nand registration of sources of radiation; periodic inspections of\n\nfacilities using sources of radiation; the review and approval of\n\nplans, and the issuance and revocation of permits and licenses, for\n\nthe use of sources of radiation; prior to issuance of any permit,\n\nrequirements to post a bond or acceptable alternative financial\n\nassurance guaranteeing proper on-site or off-site storage or\n\ndisposal; methods and facilities for disposal of sources of\n\nradiation; constructive uses of radiation, and prevention and\n\ncontrol of its associated harmful effects; and other items deemed\n\nnecessary for the protection of the public health and safety in\n\nradiation. Such rules shall be consistent with nationally\n\nrecognized standards, which may be included by reference in the\n\nadopted rules.\n\nB.
