This act shall be known and may be cited as the “Oklahoma\n\nCarbon Capture and Geologic Sequestration Act”.\n\nB. It is the intent of the Legislature that:\n\n1. Efforts to capture, purify, compress, transport, inject, and\n\nstore or sequester carbon dioxide will enhance the production of oil\n\nand natural gas in the state, further the development and production\n\nof natural resources in the state, and provide opportunities for\n\neconomic growth and development for the state; and\n\n2. In accordance with the Oklahoma Carbon Capture and Geologic\n\nSequestration Act, the Corporation Commission shall regulate all\n\naspects of such process, including being responsible for making any\n\nnecessary findings concerning the suitability of the reservoir\n\ntargeted for carbon sequestration, whether its use for such purpose\n\nis in the public interest, and the impact of that use on the oil,\n\ngas, coal-bed methane and mineral brine resources in this state.","path":["OK Code","Title 27A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os27A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"5f0a35fc8a9d87124264dd2c1148fd21794f86219e9b5c3c9ae91dd40f5637ac","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-3-4-106.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-3-5-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
