Stat. tit. 27A, § 27A-3-7-102","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Healthy Soil Program Act:\n\n1. \"Champion\" means a land manager who is declared a soil\n\nhealth champion due to the land manager's excellence in applying and\n\npromoting soil health principles, as modeled by the Soil Health\n\nChampions Network of the National Association of Conservation\n\nDistricts;\n\n2. \"Commission\" means the Oklahoma Conservation Commission;\n\n3. \"Eligible entity\" means a local governmental entity with\n\nproven land management capacity to support healthy soil and\n\nincluding conservation districts;\n\n4. \"Healthy soil\" means soil that enhances its continuing\n\ncapacity to function as a biological system, increases its organic\n\nmatter, and improves its structure and water- and nutrient-holding\n\ncapacity;\n\n5. \"Program\" means the healthy soil program created in this\n\nact;\n\n6. \"Soil health principle\" means a principle that promotes soil\n\nhealth in a given environment and includes:\n\na. keeping soil covered,\n\nb. minimizing soil disturbance on cropland and minimizing\n\nexternal inputs,\n\nc. maximizing biodiversity,\n\nd. maintaining a living root, or\n\ne. integrating animals into land management, including\n\ngrazing animals, birds, beneficial insects, or\n\nkeystone species, such as earthworms;\n\n7. \"Supported method\" means a method that is based upon soil\n\nhealth principles and is scientifically supported to promote healthy\n\nsoil;\n\n8. \"Technical assistance\" means assistance provided to a farmer\n\nor rancher to achieve the purpose of the Healthy Soil Program Act\n\nand includes outreach, education, financial assistance or assistance\n\nwith project planning, project design, grant applications, project\n\nimplementation or project reporting; and\n\n9. \"Technical assistance provider\" means a local, state,\n\nfederal, tribal, or educational entity with demonstrated technical\n\nexpertise in designing and implementing agricultural management\n\npractices that contribute to healthy soils and includes a\n\nconservation district, the United States Natural Resources\n\nConservation Service, the United States Forest Service, the United\n\nStates Bureau of Land Management, or the state Forestry Division.","path":["OK Code","Title 27A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os27A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e0c66bfd1571565a65c3790153f12a8e220a781908c44409ad3112e5b8d36b8e","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-3-7-101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-27a-27a-3-7-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
