Any person who catches or obtains fish in any manner\n\nwhatsoever from the waters of this state and such fish are dead when\n\ntaken, or die as a result of such act, shall remove those fish from\n\nsuch waters and shall bury or burn them, except nothing in this\n\nsection shall prevent noncommercial fishermen from returning fish\n\nremains to the lakes and reservoirs of this state.\n\nB. No person may bury or burn any such dead fish in any place\n\nwhere they are liable to become exposed through erosion or where\n\nsuch land is at any time subject to overflow.\n\nC. Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this\n\nsection shall be punished by the imposition of a fine of not less\n\nthan One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor more than One Thousand\n\nDollars ($1,000.00), or be imprisoned in the county jail for not\n\nmore than one (1) year, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and\n\nshall further reimburse a state agency for the costs that agency\n\nincurred in the authorized clearing of the waters and/or land of\n\nthose dead fish.","path":["OK Code","Title 29"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os29.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f390bc50905975c0a080448f1c5f9addc3fdb9e576c0b3a1f8a2dd97323e38da","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-29-29-7-402","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-29-29-7-502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
