Subject to the requirements of Section 6 of this act, there\n\nis hereby created for the purpose of establishing commercial and\n\npublic-use spaceports a body corporate and politic, to be known as\n\nthe “Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority”, and by that\n\nname the Authority may sue and be sued, and plead and be impleaded.\n\nThe Authority is hereby constituted an agency of this state, and the\n\nexercise by the Authority of the powers conferred by this act shall\n\nbe deemed to be essential governmental functions of this state with\n\nall the attributes thereof.\n\nB. It shall be the purpose, function, and responsibility of the\n\nAuthority to plan spaceport systems and projects in this state, to\n\npromote the development and improvement of space exploration and\n\nspaceport facilities, to stimulate the development of space commerce\n\nand education, including, but not limited to, the commercialization\n\nof the space industry and the development of space-related\n\nindustries, to promote research and development related to space and\n\nspace-related industry, and to promote tourism in connection with\n\nthe foregoing.
