Stat. tit. 3, § 3-65.2v1","heading":"General powers of municipalities in the establishment,","body":"acquisition, operation and maintenance of airports, vertiports, and\n\nair navigation facilities.\n\n(a) Establishment, Operation, Land Acquisition. Every\n\nmunicipality is authorized, out of any appropriations or other\n\nmonies made available for such purpose, to plan, establish, develop,\n\nconstruct, enlarge, improve, maintain, equip, operate, regulate,\n\nprotect and police airports, vertiports, and air navigation\n\nfacilities, either within or without the territorial limits of such\n\nmunicipality and within or without the territorial boundaries of\n\nthis state, including the construction, installation, equipment,\n\nmaintenance and operation at such airports of buildings and other\n\nfacilities for the servicing of aircraft or for the comfort and\n\naccommodation of air travelers, and the purchase and sale of\n\nsupplies, goods and commodities as an incident to the operation of\n\nits airport properties. For such purposes the municipality may use\n\nany available property that it may now or hereafter own or control\n\nand may, by purchase, gift, devise, lease, eminent domain\n\nproceedings or otherwise, acquire property, real or personal, or any\n\ninterest therein including easements in airport hazards or land\n\noutside the boundaries of an airport, vertiport, or airport site as\n\nare necessary to permit safe and efficient operation of the airport\n\nor vertiport or to permit the removal, elimination, obstruction-\n\nmarking or obstruction-lighting of airport hazards or to prevent the\n\nestablishment of airport hazards.\n\n(b) Acquisition of Existing Airports. Any municipality may by\n\npurchase, gift, devise or lease acquire existing airports,\n\nvertiports, and air navigation facilities, provided however it shall\n\nnot acquire or take over any airport or air navigation facility\n\nwithout the consent of the owner thereof.\n\n(c) Establishment of Airports on Public Waters and Reclaimed\n\nLands. For the purposes of this act, a municipality may establish\n\nor acquire and maintain, within or bordering upon the territorial\n\nlimits of the municipality, airports in, over and upon, any public\n\nwaters of this state, any submerged lands under such public waters,\n\nand any artificial or reclaimed lands which before the artificial\n\nmaking or reclamation thereof constituted a portion of the submerged\n\nlands under such public waters; and may construct and maintain\n\nterminal building, landing floats, causeways, roadways and bridges\n\nfor approaches to or connecting with any such airport, and landing\n\nfloats and breakwaters for the protection thereof.\n\n(d) Limitation on Design and Operation of Air Navigation\n\nFacilities.
