A municipality, which has established or acquired\n\nor which may hereafter establish or acquire an airport, vertiport,\n\nor air navigation facility, is authorized to adopt, amend and repeal\n\nsuch reasonable ordinance, resolutions, rules, regulations and\n\norders as it shall deem necessary for the management, government and\n\nuse of such airport, vertiport, or air navigation facility under its\n\ncontrol, whether situated within or without the territorial limits\n\nof the municipality. For the enforcement thereof, the municipality,\n\nmay, by ordinance or resolution, as may by law be appropriate,\n\nappoint airport guards or police, with full police powers, and fix\n\npenalties, within the limits prescribed by law, for the violation of\n\nthe aforesaid ordinances, resolutions, rules, regulations and\n\norders. Enforcement may also be conducted by airport officers\n\nholding a commission from and employed by an airport trust as\n\ndefined in, and pursuant to and in accordance with, the provisions\n\nand requirements of the Oklahoma Campus Security Act, and who, as a\n\nresult of which, hold full police powers. Said penalties shall be\n\nenforced in the same manner in which penalties prescribed by other\n\nordinances, or resolutions of the municipality are enforced. To the\n\nextent that an airport, vertiport, or other air navigation facility\n\ncontrolled and operated by a municipality is located outside the\n\nterritorial limits of the municipality, it shall, subject to federal\n\nand state laws, rules and regulations, be under the jurisdiction and\n\ncontrol of the municipality controlling or operating it, and no\n\nother municipality shall have any authority to charge or exact a\n\nlicense fee or occupation tax for operations thereon.\n\n(b) Conformity to Federal and State Law. All ordinances,\n\nresolutions, rules, regulations or orders which are issued by the\n\nmunicipality shall be kept in substantial conformity with the laws\n\nof this state or any regulations promulgated or standards\n\nestablished pursuant thereto, and, as nearly as may be, with the\n\nfederal laws governing aerospace and aeronautics and the rules,\n\nregulations and standards duly issued thereunder.","path":["OK Code","Title 3"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os3.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fdbbabed2253b0b8586a017df4f3729f55573f207a1b5ecbf5338ad45b00d0c9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-3-3-65.8","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-3-3-65.8v2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
