Stat. tit. 3, § 3-82v2","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics\n\nAct, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n1. “Aeronautics” means the science, art and practice of flight\n\nincluding, but not limited to, transportation by aircraft and\n\nmatters relating to air commerce; the operation, construction,\n\nrepair or maintenance of aircraft, aircraft power plants and\n\naccessories including the repair, packing and maintenance of\n\nparachutes; the design, establishment, construction, extension,\n\noperation, improvement, repair or maintenance of airports,\n\nrestricted landing areas or other air navigation facilities; and\n\ninstruction in flying or ground subjects pertaining thereto;\n\n2. “Aeronautical hazard” means any structure, object of natural\n\ngrowth or use of land, which obstructs the airspace required for the\n\nflight of aircraft in landing or taking off at an airport that is\n\notherwise hazardous to the operation and navigation of aircraft;\n\n3. “Air navigation facility” means any facility used in,\n\navailable for use in, or designed for use in, aid of air navigation\n\nincluding landing areas, any structures, mechanisms, lights,\n\nbeacons, markers, communicating systems or other instrumentalities\n\nor devices used or useful as an aid, or constituting an advantage or\n\nconvenience, to the safe taking off, navigation and landing of\n\naircraft, or the safe and efficient operation or maintenance of an\n\nairport and any combination of any or all of such facilities;\n\n4. “Aircraft” means any contraption now known, or hereafter\n\ninvented, used or designed for navigation of or flight in the air or\n\nairspace;\n\n5. “Airman” means any individual who engages, as the person in\n\ncommand, or as a pilot, mechanic or member of the crew, in the\n\nnavigation of aircraft while under way, and any individual who is\n\ndirectly in charge of the inspection, maintenance, overhauling or\n\nrepair of aircraft, aircraft engines, propellers and appliances;\n\n6. “Airport” means an area of land or water that is used, or\n\nintended to be used, for the landing and takeoff of aircraft, and\n\nbuildings and facilities, if any;\n\n7. “Airspace” means that portion of the atmosphere overlying a\n\ndesignated geographical area considered as subject to territorial\n\njurisdiction or international law in respect to its use by aircraft,\n\nguided missiles, and rockets;\n\n8. “Commercial service airport” means an airport meeting the\n\ncurrent Federal Aviation Administration definition for commercial\n\nservice airport;\n\n9. “Commission” means the seven members of the Oklahoma\n\nAerospace and Aeronautics Commission as appointed by the Governor;\n\n10. “Department” means the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and\n\nAeronautics;\n\n11. “Director” means the Director of the Oklahoma Department of\n\nAerospace and Aeronautics;\n\n12. “General aviation airport” means an airport not meeting the\n\ncriteria for definition as a commercial service or reliever airport;\n\n13. “Helipad” means a small, designated area, usually with a\n\nprepared surface, on a heliport, airport, landing or takeoff area,\n\napron or ramp, or movement area used for takeoff, landing or parking\n\nof helicopters;\n\n14. “Heliport” means an area of land, water or structure used\n\nor intended to be used for the landing and takeoff of helicopters\n\nand includes its buildings and facilities, if any;\n\n15. “Manned aircraft” means an aircraft, as defined in this\n\nsection, that is operated with a person in or on the aircraft;\n\n16. “Model aircraft” means an aircraft as defined in this\n\nsection that is mechanically driven or launched into flight and that\n\nmeets all of the following requirements:\n\na. is flown solely for hobby or recreational purposes,\n\nand\n\nb. is not used for payment, consideration, gratuity or\n\nbenefit, directly or indirectly charged, demanded,\n\nreceived or collected by any person for the use of the\ne 32\n\n16. “Model aircraft” means an aircraft as defined in this\n\nsection that is mechanically driven or launched into flight and that\n\nmeets all of the following requirements:\n\na. is flown solely for hobby or recreational purposes,\n\nand\n\nb. is not used for payment, consideration, gratuity or\n\nbenefit, directly or indirectly charged, demanded,\n\nreceived or collected by any person for the use of the\n\naircraft or any photographic or video image produced\n\nby the aircraft;\n\n17. “Municipality” means any incorporated city, village, or\n\ntown of this state and any county or political subdivision or\n\ndistrict in this state, or any public trust thereof, which is, or\n\nmay be, authorized by law to acquire, establish, construct,\n\nmaintain, improve, and operate airports, airstrips, and aeronautical\n\nnavigation facilities;\n\n18. “Operation of aircraft” or “operate aircraft” means the\n\nuse, navigation or piloting of aircraft in the airspace over this\n\nstate or upon any airport within this state;\n\n19. “Person” means any individual, firm, partnership,\n\ncorporation, company, association, joint stock association or body\n\npolitic and includes any trustee, receiver, assignee or other\n\nsimilar representative thereof;\n\n20. “Primary commercial service airport” means an airport\n\nmeeting the current Federal Aviation Administration definition for\n\nprimary commercial service airport;\n\n21. “Reliever airport” means an airport designated by the\n\nFederal Aviation Administration as a reliever airport and which\n\nprovides substantial capacity or instrument training relief to a\n\nprimary commercial service airport;\n\n22. “Resources” means services, facilities, funds, equipment,\n\nproperty, personnel and such other activities as are customarily\n\nincluded within the term;\n\n23. “State” or “this state” means the State of Oklahoma;\n\n24. “Unmanned aircraft” means an aircraft, as defined in this\n\nsection, that is operated without the possibility of human\n\nintervention from within or on the aircraft;\n\n25. “Unmanned aircraft system” means an unmanned aircraft and\n\nassociated elements including communication links and components\n\nthat control the unmanned aircraft that are required for the pilot\n\nin command to operate safely and efficiently in the National\n\nAirspace System;\n\n26. “Vertiport” means an area of land, water, or structure used\n\nor intended to be used for the landing and takeoff of VTOL aircraft;\n\nand\n\n27. “VTOL aircraft” means an aircraft which has vertical\n\ntakeoff and landing capability.","path":["OK Code","Title
