Stat. tit. 30, § 30-1-115","heading":"Venue - Priorities of jurisdiction - Transfer -","body":"Consolidation.\n\nA. The venue for a guardianship proceeding is in:\n\n1. The district court of the county where the minor or the\n\nincapacitated or partially incapacitated person resides;\n\n2. The district court of the county where the proposed guardian\n\nresides if the proposed guardian is a member of the minor's or\n\nincapacitated person's family; or\n\n3. The district court of the county to which the cause is\n\ntransferred by a judge of the court in which the petition was filed\n\nor the cause is pending. Provided, venue to appoint the guardian of\n\na nonresident minor or incapacitated person shall be in a county\n\nwhere the nonresident has property.\n\nB. If a proceeding pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma\n\nGuardianship and Conservatorship Act could be maintained in more\n\nthan one place in this state, the court in which the proceeding is\n\nfirst commenced has the exclusive right to exercise jurisdiction\n\nover the proceeding and proceed with the action. A court shall not\n\nexercise jurisdiction over a proceeding for guardianship of a minor\n\npursuant to this title if, at the time the petition for guardianship\n\nis filed, another court of this state is exercising jurisdiction\n\npursuant to Section 1-4-101 of Title 10A of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\nunless after notice to the parties in the deprived action, the\n\nwritten consent of such court is obtained and filed in the\n\nguardianship proceeding.\n\n1. If proceedings concerning the same estate, minor, alleged\n\nincapacitated or partially incapacitated person, or ward are\n\ncommenced in more than one court of this state, the court in which a\n\nproceeding was first commenced shall continue to hear the matter and\n\ndetermine venue. If the court where the proceeding was first filed\n\ndetermines that venue is properly in another court, it shall\n\ntransfer the proceeding to the other court.\n\n2. If the court finds that in the interest of justice a\n\nproceeding should be conducted in another court of this state, the\n\ncourt may transfer the proceeding to the other court.\n\nC.
