Only a person who is a citizen or legal resident of or\n\nlegally present in the United States of America shall be eligible to\n\nbe appointed guardian of the property or person of a minor or an\n\nincapacitated or partially incapacitated person by the courts of\n\nthis state, except as provided under subsection G of Section 4-105\n\nof this title.\n\nB. Only a person who has been a resident, in good faith, of\n\nthis state for one (1) year past shall be eligible to be appointed\n\nguardian of the property or person of a minor or an incapacitated or\n\npartially incapacitated person by the courts of this state, and no\n\nforeign trust company or institution shall be appointed guardian of\n\nthe property or person of any minor or an incapacitated or partially\n\nincapacitated person by the courts of this state. Provided that\n\nthis shall not prevent a person from being appointed guardian of his\n\nor her own spouse, child, children, grandchild, grandchildren,\n\nparent, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew\n\neven though he or she is a nonresident of this state.\n\nC. No domestic corporation or trust company shall be appointed\n\nor qualify as guardian of a minor or incapacitated or partially\n\nincapacitated person unless such company is at the time a resident\n\nof and maintains its usual place of business in the county of the\n\nresidence of such minor or incapacitated or partially incapacitated\n\nperson. No such company shall be appointed or act as such guardian\n\nunless its principal place of business is located in the county\n\nwhere such proceedings are filed and conducted.
