Stat. tit. 30, § 30-7-105","heading":"Approval of standby guardian without designation —","body":"Approval of alternate standby guardian.\n\nA. If no designation for a standby guardian has been completed\n\nby a qualified parent, upon petition of any person, the district\n\ncourt of the jurisdiction in which a child resides may approve a\n\nperson as standby guardian for a child of a qualified parent upon\n\nthe occurrence of a triggering event. If requested in the petition,\n\nthe court may also approve an alternate standby guardian identified\n\nby the petitioner, to act in the event that at any time after\n\napproval pursuant to this section the standby guardian is unable or\n\nunwilling to assume the responsibilities of the standby\n\nguardianship.\n\nB. The petition shall state:\n\n1. The name and address of the petitioner and his relationship\n\nto the child and the name and address of the child’s qualified\n\nparent, and the name and address of any other parent of the child\n\nwhose identity and whereabouts are known to the petitioner or can\n\nreasonably be ascertained;\n\n2. The name, address and birthdate of the child;\n\n3. The triggering event;\n\n4. The name and address of the person proposed as standby\n\nguardian and any alternate and whether the petition requests that\n\nsuch person be given authority as a guardian of the person or\n\nguardian of the property of the minor, or both;\n\n5. A statement of any known reasons as to why the child’s other\n\nparent is not assuming or should not assume responsibility for the\n\nchild; and\n\n6.
