Stat. tit. 36, § 36-1214","heading":"Fair disclosure - Protection against misleading sales","body":"methods.\n\nThe purpose of this act is to assure fair disclosure of relevant\n\nfacts in the sale of life insurance and annuity contracts. This act\n\nis also designed to protect citizens of the State of Oklahoma as\n\npurchasers and prospective purchasers of life insurance policies or\n\nannuity contracts against the use of sales methods which are\n\nmisleading because of:\n\n1. The omission of facts fairly describing the subject matter\n\nas a life insurance policy or annuity contract and the benefits\n\nobtainable thereunder;\n\n2. An undue emphasis upon facts which, even though correct, are\n\nnot relevant to the sale of life insurance or annuities; or\n\n3. An undue emphasis upon features which are of incidental or\n\nsecondary importance to the life insurance aspects of a policy.\n\nThis act is deemed necessary for the effectuation of Section\n\n1201 et seq., Title 36, Oklahoma Statutes, known as the Unfair\n\nPractices and Frauds Act; Section 1401 et seq., Title 36, Oklahoma\n\nStatutes; and Sections 2741 and 2742, Title 36, Oklahoma Statutes;\n\nand shall be construed as supplemental and cumulative to existing\n\nlaws.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"60b10c426d16634ffea6e5566a83a3fffd056548934fd6774d467f50414074ee","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-1213","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-1215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
