An insurer's claim files shall be subject to examination by\n\nthe Insurance Commissioner or by duly appointed designees. Such\n\nfiles shall contain all notes and work papers pertaining to a claim\n\nin such detail that pertinent events and the dates of such events\n\ncan be reconstructed. In addition, the Insurance Commissioner,\n\nauthorized employees and examiners shall have access to any of an\n\ninsurer's files that may relate to a particular complaint under\n\ninvestigation or to an inquiry or examination by the Insurance\n\nDepartment.\n\nB. Any person subject to the jurisdiction of the Commissioner,\n\nupon receipt of any inquiry from the Commissioner shall, within\n\ntwenty (20) calendar days from the date of receipt of the inquiry,\n\nfurnish the Commissioner with an adequate response to the inquiry.\n\nThe Commissioner may, upon good cause shown and on a case-by-case\n\nbasis, extend the time allowed for a response for up to seven (7)\n\nadditional calendar days. Any inquiry or response subject to this\n\nsubsection shall be delivered electronically.\n\nC. Every insurer, upon receipt of any pertinent written\n\ncommunication including but not limited to e-mail or other forms of\n\nwritten electronic communication, or documentation by the insurer of\n\na verbal communication from a claimant which reasonably suggests\n\nthat a response is expected, shall, within thirty (30) days after\n\nreceipt thereof, furnish the claimant with an adequate response to\n\nthe communication.\n\nD.
