Stat. tit. 36, § 36-1435.20","heading":"Limited lines producers - Qualification for license -","body":"Travel accident and baggage policies.\n\nA. A limited lines producer may receive qualification for a\n\nlicense in one or more of the following categories:\n\n1. Prepaid legal liability insurance, which means the\n\nassumption of an enforceable contractual obligation to provide\n\nspecified legal services or to reimburse policyholders for specified\n\nlegal expenses, pursuant to the provisions of a group or individual\n\npolicy;\n\n2. Crop - insurance providing protection against damage to\n\ncrops from unfavorable weather conditions, fire or lightning, flood,\n\nhail, insect infestation, disease or other yield-reducing conditions\n\nor perils provided by the private insurance market, or that is\n\nsubsidized by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation, including\n\nMulti-Peril Crop Insurance;\n\n3. Car rental - insurance offered, sold or solicited in\n\nconnection with and incidental to the rental of rental cars for a\n\nperiod of two (2) years, whether at the rental office or by\n\npreselection of coverage in master, corporate, group or individual\n\nagreements that:\n\na. is nontransferable,\n\nb. applies only to the rental car that is the subject of\n\nthe rental agreement, and\n\nc. is limited to the following kinds of insurance:\n\n(1) personal accident insurance for renters and other\n\nrental car occupants, for accidental death or\n\ndismemberment, and for medical expenses resulting\n\nfrom an accident that occurs with the rental car\n\nduring the rental period,\n\n(2) liability insurance that provides protection to\n\nthe renters and other authorized drivers of a\n\nrental car for liability arising from the\n\noperation or use of the rental car during the\n\nrental period,\n\n(3) personal effects insurance that provides coverage\n\nto renters and other vehicle occupants for loss\n\nof, or damage to, personal effects in the rental\n\ncar during the rental period,\n\n(4) roadside assistance and emergency sickness\n\nprotection insurance, or\n\n(5) any other coverage designated by the Insurance\n\nCommissioner.\n\nA car rental limited lines license issued to a rental or leasing\n\ncompany shall authorize any employee or authorized representative of\n\nthe rental or leasing company to sell or offer coverage at each\n\nlocation at which the rental or leasing company operates. Employees\n\nor authorized representatives are not required to be individually\n\nlicensed;\n\n4. Credit - credit life, credit disability, credit property,\n\ncredit unemployment, involuntary unemployment, mortgage life,\n\nmortgage guaranty, mortgage disability, guaranteed automobile\n\nprotection insurance, or any other form of insurance offered in\n\nconnection with an extension of credit that is limited to partially\n\nor wholly extinguishing that credit obligation and that is\n\ndesignated by the Insurance Commissioner as limited line credit\n\ninsurance;\n\n5. Surety - insurance or bond that covers obligations to pay\n\nthe debts of, or answer for the default of another, including\n\nfaithlessness in a position of public or private trust. For purpose\n\nof limited line licensing, surety does not include surety bail\n\nbonds;\n\n6. Travel;\n\n7. Self-service storage insurance, pursuant to Section 1435.20a\n\nof this title; and\n\n8. Motor Service Club limited lines producer, pursuant to\n\nSections 3101 et seq. of this title.\n\nB. 1. An insurance producer or limited lines producer may\n\nsolicit applications for and issue travel accident policies or\n\nbaggage insurance by means of mechanical vending machines supervised\n\nby the insurance producer or limited lines producer only if the\n\nInsurance Commissioner shall determine that the form of policy to be\n\nsold is reasonably suited for sale and issuance through vending\n\nmachines, that use of vending machines for the sale of policies\n\nwould be of convenience to the public, and that the type of vending\n\nmachine to be used is reasonably suitable and practical for the sale\n\nand issuance of policies. Policies so sold do not have to be\norm of policy to be\n\nsold is reasonably suited for sale and issuance through vending\n\nmachines, that use of vending machines for the sale of policies\n\nwould be of convenience to the public, and that the type of vending\n\nmachine to be used is reasonably suitable and practical for the sale\n\nand issuance of policies. Policies so sold do not have to be\n\ncountersigned.\n\n2. The Commissioner shall issue to the insurance agent or\n\nlimited insurance representative a special vending machine license\n\nfor each such machine to be used. The license shall specify the\n\nname and address of the insurer and licensee, the kind of insurance\n\nand type of policy to be sold, and the place where the machine is to\n\nbe in operation. The license shall expire, be renewable, and be\n\nsuspended or revoked coincidentally with the insurance agent license\n\nor limited representative license of the licensee. The license fee\n\nfor each vending machine shall be that stated in the provisions of\n\nSection 1435.23 of this title.
