Stat. tit. 36, § 36-1435.21","heading":"Licensure for purposes of writing controlled business","body":"prohibited.\n\nA. The Commissioner shall not grant, renew, continue, or permit\n\nto continue any license if the Commissioner finds that the license\n\nis being or will be used by the applicant or licensee for the\n\npurpose of writing controlled business. \"Controlled business\"\n\nmeans:\n\na. insurance written on the interests of the licensee or\n\nthose of his or her relatives to the second degree or\n\nof his or her employer, or\n\nb. insurance covering the licensee or relatives of the\n\nlicensee to the second degree or a corporation,\n\nassociation, or partnership of which the licensee or a\n\nmember of the licensee’s immediate family is an\n\nofficer, director, substantial stockholder, partner,\n\nassociate, or employee, or the officers, directors,\n\nsubstantial stockholders, partners, or employees of\n\nsuch a corporation, association, or partnership. A\n\nvendor's or lender's interest in property sold or\n\nbeing sold pursuant to contract or which is security\n\nfor any loan shall not be deemed for the purpose of\n\nthis provision to constitute property or an interest\n\nof the vendor or lender.\n\nB. A license shall be deemed to have been or intended to be\n\nused for the purpose of writing controlled business if the\n\nCommissioner finds that during any twelve-month period the aggregate\n\ncommissions earned from controlled business has exceeded twenty-five\n\npercent (25%) of the aggregate commissions earned on all business\n\nwritten by the applicant or licensee during the same period.\n\nC.
