Stat. tit. 36, § 36-1503","heading":"Assets not allowed as deductions from liabilities","body":"In addition to assets impliedly excluded by the provisions of\n\nSection 1501 of this article, the following expressly shall not be\n\nallowed as assets in any determination of the financial condition of\n\nan insurer:\n\n1. Trade names and other like intangible assets, excluding good\n\nwill.\n\n2. Advances to officers (other than policy loans) whether\n\nsecured or not, and advances to employees, agents and other persons\n\non personal security only.\n\n3. Stock of such insurer, owned by it, or any equity therein or\n\nloans secured thereby, or any proportionate interest in such stock\n\nacquired or held through the ownership by such insurer of an\n\ninterest in another firm, corporation or business unit.\n\n4. Furniture, fixtures, furnishings, safes, vehicles,\n\nlibraries, stationery, literature and supplies, except in the case\n\nof title insurers such materials and plants as the insurer is\n\nexpressly authorized to invest in under Article 50 (Title Insurers)\n\nof this Code and except, in the case of any insurer, such personal\n\nproperty as the insurer is permitted to hold pursuant to Article 16\n\n(Investments) of this Code, or which is reasonably necessary for the\n\nmaintenance and operation of real estate lawfully acquired and held\n\nby the insurer other than real estate used by it for home office,\n\nbranch office and similar purposes.\n\n5.
