Stat. tit. 36, § 36-1692","heading":"Purpose of act","body":"The Protected Cell Companies Act is adopted to provide a basis\n\nfor the creation of protected cells by a domestic insurer as a means\n\nof accessing alternative sources of capital and achieving the\n\nbenefits of insurance securitization or effectuating insurance\n\nbusiness transfers in accordance with the Insurance Business\n\nTransfer Act. Investors in fully funded insurance securitization\n\ntransactions provide funds that are available to pay the insurer's\n\ninsurance obligations or to repay investors or both.
