If so provided in its articles of incorporation, a domestic\n\nstock or domestic mutual insurer may issue any or all of its\n\npolicies with or without participation in profits, savings, or\n\nunabsorbed portions of premiums, may classify policies issued on a\n\nparticipating or nonparticipating basis, and may determine the right\n\nto participate and the extent of participation of any class or\n\nclasses of policies. Any such classification or determination shall\n\nbe reasonable, and shall not unfairly discriminate as between\n\npolicyholders within the same such classification. A life insurer\n\nmay issue both participating and nonparticipating policies only if\n\nthe right or absence of right to participate is reasonably related\n\nto the premium charged.\n\nB.
